AuskickThe Bulleen Templestowe Junior Football Club are once again be running an Auskick program this year.
Auskick is an introductory program for both boys and girls, run every Saturday morning (excluding holidays) from the April through to the start of September. The major focus during the program is on fun and enjoyment. The program is structured under the AFL’s guidance and the weekly sessions are aimed at teaching and developing each child’s skills and abilities. This is done using planned drills and activities alongside structured games.
At the Bullants’ Auskick program the boys and girls are separated into three groups based on their individual abilities. This enables each child to play and develop alongside others of similar skill level. As a child develops, the activities adjust to suit their abilities.
Participants learn important development skills in:
- Running, weaving and stopping
- Co-ordination
- General ball skills
- Kicking techniques
- Catching and marking skills
- Hand passing
- Bouncing
- Working as a team
- Social Skills
The Auskick program is very dependant on parent participation and all parents are more than welcome to join in during the sessions.
