A message from the President

As we count down until the start of the 2020 footy season, I would like to welcome players, families, supporters and sponsors to the Bulleen Templestowe Junior Football Club.

After a successful season in 2019, we can’t wait to kick off season 2020!

The Club won two Premierships in our U15 Girls and Youth Girls. This was the Youth Girls third successive premiership. Our U12 Boys gave a valiant effort in their Grand Final. Many Bullants players were recognised at the end of season YJFL vote counts, with several players winning their section’s B&F award. More Bullants players were selected in representative squads in the Yarra Magpies teams and NAB League U18 teams. We recognised many player milestones at our legendary Sunday family nights. In June we raised money for FightMND with the Bullants very own Coaches Ice Bucket Challenge night and in July we ran a highly successful, and fun Back to the 80’s social fundraiser event. And most importantly, we supported local boys and girls getting out on the footy field every week having a kick, learning skills and having fun with their friends.

We are proud to announce again in 2020, will be fielding teams in every age group, from Under 8’s through to Colts and Youth Girls.
Our award-winning AFL Auskick Program will be back up and running on Saturday mornings, run by our new parent coach, James Court. This AFL supported program provides a great introduction to the sport of Aussie Rules.

In 2020 we welcome several new Committee members; Jo Chu, Phil Louey, Kaylene Ubergang, Fiona Whiteman, Tony Raco and James Court. Thank you for volunteering your time to be involved in this great Club

At this time, I would l like to formally thank our outgoing, longstanding committee members, Fotini Agrotis, Louise Dempsey, Dave Sticca, and Mark Cassidy who have all made significant contributions to the Bullants over many years.

Our Committee works tirelessly to ensure the club runs smoothly so our kids and families get a great footy experience every week.

Soon we will be announcing our Coaches for season 2020. All Bullants coaches are accredited and undergo coaching skill development run by professional training facilitators. We have some exciting news regarding our training provider and this will be formally announced in the coming weeks.

When teams are finalised around March, we will be looking for parent assistance in some key roles for each team, such as Team Manager, Coaching Assistant, and First Aid. I would encourage every parent to become involved in some way. It is this parent commitment & involvement that has helped make the Club what it is today.

In 2019 we had one of our most successful years with our sponsors as we signed up more local businesses to support the Bullants. The club relies on and appreciates this valuable financial and in-kind sponsorship as it not only provides integral funds for our operations, but also helps forge strong community ties within the Manningham community.

We have sponsorship packages for all kinds of businesses and budgets, so get in contact if you would like to become a Bullants partner in 2020.

With the 2020 season launch only 12 weeks away, the values of the Bullants remain the same, the BTJFC provide opportunities for local boys and girls to learn and play Aussie Rules footy in a fun, safe and inclusive family-oriented environment. In our 2019 parent survey, 100% of respondents said they would recommend the club to family & friends. We are proud of the culture we have developed here at the Bullants, and this strengthens with our current and ever expanding parent and family groups joining us. If you are considering bringing your kids down to the Club to play footy, please have a look at the ‘10 reasons to play with the Bullants’ in our Registration tab on the website. Get in contact with us if you have any questions or come along to our Open Day.

Keep your eye on our social platforms, Facebook and Instagram for up to the minute club news and updates.

For our existing families, we have initiated an early bird registration discount. Registrations are open now!

For new families considering joining the Bullants, our Open Day is scheduled for Sunday 9th February at our clubrooms at Ted Ajani Oval.

Come along to meet the coaches, get a mouthguard fitting, order a famous Bullants Hoodie and of course have a snag from Aaron’s BBQ. Everyone is welcome!

Season 2020 is looking to be another big year at the Bullants!

I look forward to welcoming you down at the Club later this year,

Go Bullants!
