SEASON DATES

Round 1 for Season 2020 is Sunday 19th April.

Closer to the start of the season the fixture will be available for you reference via the YJFL website or Game Day App.

The first four rounds are grading rounds.

After the grading is completed, the full season fixture will be released.

PRIOR TO THE GAME

Prior to Game Day, the Team Manager will notify all families of the game details; time, location etc.

The Team Manager will also allocate game day duties to parents.

Each week every team needs to have parents volunteer specific duties to make the game run smoothly.

These are usually rotated, however some parents offer to do a role for the whole season.

The Team Manager will provide a brief handout on how to do the task.

You will also be required to wear a YJLF bib to signify your role on the day.

Don’t worry if haven’t done these before, they are easy and everyone has to have a go doing their share of the tasks.

If you are unable to do your designated task, please find a replacement for yourself amongst the team parents.

First Aid

The First Aid role needs to be taken up by a parent who has Level 1 First Aid qualifications.

It is an important role, as you will be the first respondent for any on field injuries.

The role is supported by League appointed First Aid officers from Colbrow Medics.

These are paid medics who are at every ground for every game.

BTJFC BULLANTS CLUB INFORMATION

Sunday Night Family Nights: Ted Ajani Clubrooms

Every Sunday night during the season, club families and friends are invited to attend the Ted Ajani clubrooms for our famous Bullants Family Nights.  During the night, the club provides a cheap and cheerful dinner option, coaches do match summaries, player milestones are acknowledged, and the bar is open.

It’s a great social catch up to cap off a busy day of footy.

Player Welfare

  • Injuries

If your child is injured during the game, the Bullants Player Welfare Coordinator will contact you to complete an Incident Form. They will also assist you in completing any insurance forms and general follow up to make sure your child has a successful and speedy recovery.

  • Bullying

The club does not tolerate any form of bullying.

If you have concerns about this, in the first instance contact your Coach and Team Manager or contact the Club Secretary, Player Welfare Coordinator or Club President

Player Milestones

Players will be recognised for their game tallies at 50, 100 & 150 games.

The player will receive a small trophy awarded by the Coach at Sunday Family Night.

The YJFL also acknowledges players achieving 100 games with a presentation of a medallion.

The Team Manager will notify you when your child is nearing a milestone game.

Parents are welcome to prepare a banner for their child to run through on the game day.

These banners are usually only done at home games.

You have the option to make your own banner or there are several companies that make them http://www.milestonebanners.com.au/

Team Photos

The Club provides every player with a Team Photo.

These are taken around June of each year. Your Team Manager will notify you of the date and time.

They are then handed out at Presentation Day at the end of the season.

Mouthguards

It is compulsory for all players to wear a mouthguard while playing.

Umpires will send players off if they are not wearing a mouthguard.

You can buy the boil and mould mouthguards from sport stores and chemists.

Alternatively you can get a professionally fitted mouthguard.

The club usually has a mouthguard provider at our Club Open Day.

Bullants Hoodies

Our legendary Bullants hoodies are worn by most players (and many parents).

They can be customised with player/parent nicknames on the back of the jumper.

Orders are only taken once a year, at the start of the season. The order cut off is the  end of Round One.

Sample sizes are available to try on at the Sunday night Family Nights at the start of the season.

They can also now be ordered in our online shop.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Most of our sponsors are club family businesses.

If you think your business might benefit from becoming a club sponsor partner, please contact bullantssponsorship@gmail.com

Club/Team Volunteers

If you would like to contribute in some way either at a Club level or a team level, please speak to a committee member.

End of Season Presentation Night

The Club has an end of year Presentation Day at Ted Ajani Oval.

U8 & U9 players receive player participation trophies

Each team from U10 upwards has team awards for Best & Fairest and various other awards.

Social Media

The Club actively utilises social media platforms, Facebook and Instagram to communicate club news, information updates and player recognition. Parents can submit any player, team, or game day photos using the apps so they can posted. If you do not want your child featured in any social media posts, please let us know by emailing the Secretary.

The Club has a policy to never use players full names (unless reposting league information/posts).

YJFL Representative Football

The YJFL provides opportunities for players to try out for representative teams in the newly established Yarra Academy program, the Yarra Magpies.

This may be promoted for anyone to attend try outs or it may be by invitation only.

If you would like more information about this, you can go to the YJFL website or speak to your Coach.
